Antique Poole Round Silverplate Butter Dish & Lid-Etched & Repousse-Glass Insert

Offered is this round antique silverplate butter dish with a domed lid and the original glass insert, made by the Poole Silver Co. of Taunton, Massachusetts. The base has a beaded rim and the lid features a combination etched and repousse floral and leaf design with a sort of crown-shaped finial on the top. The company began operations in the late 1890s and continued into the 1970s; the design of this piece looks like it dates to the 1890s or the very early part of the 1900s to me. In addition to the company mark, the bottom is marked "444", apparently a pattern or item number. This may be a rare find; at the time of original listing I could not find any other round Poole silverplate butter dishes for sale on eBay.
The piece is approx. 5 1/2" high and about 6 3/8" across the base. Most of the piece is in good condition, but there are two almost identical cracks in the metal on opposite sides of the flared edge of the base (see last photo for a picture of one of them). The rim of the lid is also slightly out of round so it does not fit perfectly on the bottom part. Much of the plating still remains and the glass is intact, with only a few very small chips and marks.
