    Description

    Circa 1850-1899, this very ornate butterdish was from my grandmother who lived in Salem, Missouri, & it is in excellent, usable condition with its own very fine satinglass clear liner dish inside.
    The large fancy domed cover has a finial on top; the stand for the butter dish has 2 holders for a butter knife on its side.  And this comes with an ornately decorated silverplated butter knife that is 8" long, & is marked on the back Wallace Bros.; the knife is the only part of the whole set that is magnetic.
    The entire silverplate set has not been polished to a bright shine--that is for the lucky buyer to have the pleasure of doing to their heart's content. My husband did polish only the very top of the dome, just to see how bright it would look when polished--see the photos, & you can indeed see the magnificent, brilliant shine that area has!
    The whole butter dish & stand measures 8" L x7" W x 7.5" Tall, & weighs 2 1/4 lbs.
