    Pairpoint Mfg Co. Antique Quadruple Plate Covered Butter Dish #553 w/Glass Plate
    This is from the 1890s (Pairpoint Mfg. became Pairpoint Corp. in 1900).  There are two handles and a stand attached for a butter knife to rest.  It shows wear and has a hole in the top instead of a handle.  I'm not sure if it was made this way or if the handle is missing.  There is a glass plate insert with a cow in the center, flower border and small scalloped edge.  One spot of the edge is chipped (see pictures).  Edging on the base and the lid match. From a smoke free, pet free home.
